Swede's last large collection was Almost Unseen: Selected Haiku of George Swede (Brooks Books, 2000), about which literary and environmental critic Tom Lynch wrote this in his introduction: "I was struck by how many of them stand as landmarks in the traverse of haiku through the past few decades."
